Ok, now that you've mastered the basics of prim manipulation. You did complete your training at The Ivory Tower Library right? Good.
So, yeah, anyway ... you're probably going to need a place to build. At first a small sandbox might do the trick for you, but some days it might be a little too crowded or maybe you want to build something bigger. Maybe you just want some privacy for a secret project.
Well, if you have land it's common practice to put a builder's platform in the sky above it so you can build what you want and/or need (or to build stuff to sell below). If you DON'T have land ... well, you're going to need access to a group sandbox.
I couldn't tell you how many hours I've spent at Skidz Isle. By joining the mentor group you'll not only be able to build just about anything you could want here ... you'll also be able to ask the group and get help if you get stuck or can't figure out what you need to do. Plus there are parts and scripting stores here where you can get what you might need to do whatever it is you're trying to do.
The private builder boxes are a nice touch. Just select an empty platform and teleport up to it.
From a distance they don't look like much ... just big, black boxes that hang in the sky very much the way bricks don't.
But inside...
...you will find plenty of room to build. Of course you can't build houses, castles, etc. inside. You need wide open space for that. For those builds just head down into the sandbox and have fun (obey the rules and you'll probably not hear anyone complaining). But for furniture, clothes, cars (building not testing), motorcycles ... you could do much of that stuff right here in a private room.
Who knows what madness will take over once you begin to understand prim manipulation.
Well, from here you're on your own to twist and torture prims into becoming what you want them to be. The devil is in the detail. Be picky. "That's close enough" ... isn't. Abuse yourself for mistakes. Reward yourself when you know you've kicked some ass.
It's your world now. Go build it.
I'll be back again. Someday.
